Daisuke SUETSUGU

Visiting Professor, Graduate School of Science
Director, Department of Deep Earth Structure and Dynamics Research, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology

Research Interests:

I have performed seismological studies to determine the structure of the Earth's deep interior. My research is based on seismological observation in oceanic areas. In particular, I am interested in the deep structure beneath hotspots and LIPs in the Pacific, their origin, and impact of past magmatic activities of the hotspots and LIPs on the Earth's environment. I am also interested in water transport into the mantle beneath subduction zones. I am willing to collaborate with researchers of mineral physics, geochemistry, and simulation of mantle convection.
